dolls can't is an alternative rock band, which sculpts organic, visceral works. Its mechanics opens the doors of a surrealistic and familiar universe at the same time. You can meet psychedelic characters dressed with poetry in it. These stringless puppets draw space without boundaries while revendicating influences from tool, Radiohead and The Mars Volta. Here, songs are experienced through the five senses.

dolls can't has always lived in Pierre-Yves Ponsin’s mind. Together, they feed off of music, travel and above all life. Pierre-Yves patiently affirms lyrics and compositions, as well as his own experience as a musician at the Music Academy International of Nancy and in different projects. These last projects have brought him to Strasbourg, where he met Hervé Andrione, Vincent Sexauer and Louis Ernst, who were training at the Conservatory in the Music Improvisation Department.

Alchemy occurred and dolls can't became a band in 2008. The four friends shape the elements, put them together. So very quickly, an explosive energy builds up within a machine and appears on stage.

One year later, they self-produced beyond the eyelids which, was their first EP. It was welcomed with enthusiasm by loyal fans. This record launched them on stages that other bands hope to play on. They have participated in several national competitions, such as two showings at Le Printemps de Bourges Festival, some tours in France and abroad and played at The Gena Open Air Festival. They also worked with Sonia Savary and Benjamin Georjon in order to develop their on-scene abilities.

After releasing two songs digitally, the four-member band is preparing a new album and new shows. The association INNERSEA was created by dolls can't in 2011. An inaugural event has been organized at the Molodoï in Strasbourg, which will bring together Melissmell - dolls can't – So Called Wise.
